Simple. I'll wait to see what actually happens to get outraged before just
leaping for what CNN and/or the left tells me what should outrage me. Sticking with the original topics:
If they come up with a more efficient and cheaper way to control the borders with a combination of walls, fence, patrols, drones, etc. rather than sticking to the rigidity of it must be a wall, I'll be happy. If they then go from there to have a system that allows non-violent illegals already here to come out of the shadows via a work permit, etc., improve our system for stopping people from overstaying Visas, comes up with a real and effective means for stopping the hiring of illegals, and improves our system for legal immigration, I'll be ecstatic. And won't give a hoot if there is a complete wall or not.
If they implement a way to drastically improve our health insurance purchasing system, while maintaining the coverage for pre-existing conditions, I'll be happy. If they then take that on to take steps which actually make a meaningful impact on health care costs and how we deliver health care, I'll be ecstatic. If, as they have done so far, do nothing or simply repeal without replacing, while controlling both houses and the White House, I will most definitely hold them to the same standards and will voice my disapproval at the polls.
If they indeed renegotiate NAFTA (and other trade agreements or new agreements) in a way that is more favorable for the U.S., I will be happy. If those renegotiated and new agreements are as close as possible to free and unfettered trade with as many countries as possible, I'll be ecstatic. I'm a free trader. I don't want them to tear up NAFTA. I and most supporters want these agreements to be better or more fair to us. So why would I be upset that they've decided renegotiating (or reworking) is a better approach than tearing it up and having nothing?
I never wanted or expected him to build a wall and nothing else, simply to control the flow of illegals and remove much of the incentive that draws them here. I never wanted or expected him to simply repeal OCare without replacing it. I never wanted or expected him to tear up all trade agreements, simply to improve how it affects us. So I'm missing exactly what he's done that I should be so upset about at this point.
